impressed
Sunday I arrived back home after one week staying in Vegas at Autodesk University. It was a good week, I learned some new things and also listened to some cool and interesting lectures. One of them was given by one of the creators of the new movie Avatar which was partly created with Maya (one of the many Autodesk products). We were lucky to see a 20 minute long preview with 3d glasses on and a warning that no recording was allowed,.(duhh)!!,.there were even guys from the movie company with special infrared devices for checking if there were illegal recordings being made..Well I must admit what I've seen was pretty spectacular!! not only the story but also the way they managed to mix the digital / fantasy with real world camera techniques. I didn't had the impression that I was looking at computer graphics but at "real things" ,..when you'll see the movie you'll see what I mean. After the preview the audience cheered and applaud minutes long (I think some even wiped some tears of joy) and this was an audience of engineers, animators, modelers, designers and other geeks!!

Can't wait to see complete movie next week in the cinema!!
